PublicArtExplorer v2.2.0 is available as of now.

Received the request to add memorials to PublicArtexplorer which I think does make sense given that many memorials are in fact art. While working on this I was looking for an example to test my code with and found it here: Memorial https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3646688877

Together with a few unexpected surprises…

First of all I learned that there is an artwork_type=dwarf? Hard to believe, but somehow this must have gotten accepted as a category next to sculpture, statue, mural and the likes: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag%3Aartwork_type%3Ddwarf?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Anyway, I added support for dwarfs, and noticed that there were quite a few broken urls in nodes in the vicinity of my test node, which I am unable to fix because I have no local knowledge.

So I decided to add the possibility to create OpenStreetMap (OSM) notes to the raw-data dialog, so someone local can be alerted to a broken node.

Notes can be created anonymously and, if already logged on to OSM, under your name.

To be be able to post notes under your account you have to logoff/logon from OSM again because writing notes requires new permissions which you need to confirm.

There were also a few new tags which apparently are valid and hence I want to support. Therefore, next to dwarfs, we now also support the tag “brand” e.g. as a reference to the artist.

Given that I had to do quite a few searches inside of PublicArtExplorer I also added a search history to the dialog so I don*t have to type in the same thing over and over again.

And whilst on it I also went through a significant refactoring of the several areas.

In short, what was supposed to be a small enhancment became rather big and hence warants a version number bump. So here’s v2.2.0
